    Revisit or discover new Story County Conservation trails to unscramble a word! Sign up to receive a weekly email with the map to a new word adventure. Each jumbled word will be mounted on a post along a trail, includes a picture as a clue, and will stay out for three weeks. Have fun exploring!

  2. What's Blooming Now?

    Missing out on this year's Evening Prairie walks? Sign up to receive some information for self-led exploration! A flyer of what's blooming in Story County prairies will be sent out every 2-3 weeks based on the amount of new blooms to be found. We'll also include the park or trail where the blooms were seen so you have a place to get started, but there are MANY prairie areas across the county where you might be able to find these plants!

  3. FLOAT IV (Overnight Caving Trip) CANCELED

    CANCELED DUE TO COVID-19 Fun-Loving Outdoor Adventure Team (FLOAT) IV explores Iowa underground! Go caving, climbing, and hiking on a three-day, two-night experience in eastern Iowa. Learn how cooperation and teamwork can build your confidence and abilities. Dare to try new things and discover new places. ** Please note that caving involves crawling through dark, small spaces. This camp is for youth completing 7th or 8th grade in the spring of 2020. This overnight camp runs Tuesday, July 7 at 9am through Thursday, July 9 and 3pm.

  4. FLOAT I (Basic Outdoor Skills) CANCELED

    CANCELED DUE TO COVID-19 The first of the FLOATs (Fun-Loving Outdoor Adventure Team) is a day camp. It teaches campers basic outdoor skills while preparing for the higher level FLOATs. Fishing, canoeing, map reading, cooking, and other skills will be taught. This camp is only for children that are completing 3rd or 4th grade in the spring of 2020. Children may only be registered for one FLOAT I camp.
